Mifflin–St Jeor
How the calculation works
We use Mifflin–St Jeor for resting energy expenditure: 10 × kg + 6.25 × cm − 5 × years, then +5 or −161. The unrounded result is multiplied by your selected activity factor. These are the same equation and factors used in Nutryfit onboarding.
Factors: 1.2 · 1.375 · 1.55 · 1.725 · 1.9. They are approximate product categories, not measurements of your movement or part of the original equation. Do not add exercise calories again.

When an estimate is not enough
This tool does not set a deficit, prescribe a diet or predict a weight-loss timeline. Do not use it for children, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Medical conditions, treatments, high muscle mass or older age may need a different approach. This is not NIDDK’s dynamic Body Weight Planner model.
General information for adults, not a personal diet or prescription. For medical conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating disorders or specific needs, consult a qualified professional.
